We are thrilled to announce that the Cumberland Nursing and Rehab Resident of the Month is the delightful and vibrant Ms. T! Ms. T brings so much energy and warmth to our community every single day. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Ms. T grew up playing outside with her two brothers, enjoying activities like jacks and sledding, and attending church. Her spirit for adventure started early, leading her to a life of travel alongside her husband of 18 years, who worked for an oil company. This allowed her to experience life in places like California, Houston, Texas, and many other exciting locations before she ultimately settled here in Somerset.
When asked about her experience here at Cumberland Nursing and Rehab, Ms. T’s gratitude and happiness shine through. She has found great joy in the community, stating, “I couldn’t ask for a better place to be.” Ms. T is truly the heart of many activities, and you can often find her playing cards with her friends, getting competitive during Bingo, or socializing in the sunroom, where she also enjoys crocheting and knitting. Ms. T “knows no stranger,” and her laugh is infectious and full of pure joy. She appreciates the staff who she says, “take good care of her.” When she learned she had been named Resident of the Month, Ms. T said the recognition “made her feel glorious!”
Looking toward the future, Ms. T’s favorite holiday is New Year’s Day, a time when she expresses thanks to the Lord for having lived another year. One of her current goals is to be able to go shopping more. We are proud to share that our dedicated Therapy Department is currently working with Ms. T to help her reach this goal, building on the many successes they have already achieved together! If Ms. T could leave a message for all the residents and staff, she says it would be simple and heartfelt: “Follow your heart.” Please join us in celebrating Ms. T for her incredible spirit and for being a cherished part of the Cumberland Nursing and Rehab family!
